Asian Suite

Thank you for stopping by and welcome to our Easton, Maryland bed and breakfast. The Inn at 202 Dover is an historic mansion built in 1874 and is an integral part of the historic fabric of Easton. Providing luxurious travel accommodations just a short block from downtown shopping, art galleries and theatre, the Inn has been referred to as Easton’s “Inn of Distinction.” There are many reasons for this, not the least of which is the grace and dominance of the building itself.

Original Grand Entryway

Restoration began in 2005 under the watchful eyes of the owners, Shelby and Ron Mitchell, Historic Easton, Easton’s Historic Commission, the State of Maryland and the Department of Interior, giving this glorious Colonial Revival mansion a second life. Today the Inn boasts four elegant suites and one luxury en suite bedroom, each themed and decorated accordingly. Invoking the Victorian era, the suites provide guests with an international flavor in keeping with the Victorian concept. Guests may choose among France, Asia, England and Africa (Safari) suites or, the Victorian bedroom. Many guests have commented that the suites are larger than their apartments. We encourage you to look at the room pages on this site. While the photographs give you a sense of our accommodations, you must experience the Inn in person to truly capture the attention to detail and luxury that is the hallmark of the Inn.

In the summer of 2006, the Inn at 202 Dover made its debut with an opening party hosting some 250 people. Since then word has spread, and guests from across the country and internationally have selected the Inn as their home away from home. And we are proud that the press has discovered us and has been very kind. In the March 2008 issue of Maryland Life Magazine, the author of an article about the Inn referred to it as the “Buckingham Palace of inns” for which we are quite grateful.

Inn at 202 Outdoor PergolaThe gardens were inspired by New York Landscape Architect Eileen Imber and designed keeping the Victorian era in mind. Guests enjoy the “secret garden” while others simply relax on the patio under the pergola and watch the butterflies.

Fine Dining in our RestaurantAbout eight months after opening the Inn, Shelby & Ron opened a restaurant with a Cordon Bleu trained executive chef. The restaurant too has captured the fancy of local residents and visitors to historic Easton. Please take a look at our dining page and check our site for wine tasting dinners and other special events.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you relax and enjoy the magnificent Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Tidbit: Maryland has more shoreline than any other state in the Union.
